The Russian Federation called the actions of the Ukrainian side in the area of Kerch Strait provocative and called the Chargé d'affaires of Ukraine to the Russian Foreign Ministry, as Interfax reported, citing spokeswoman of Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova.
“Today, the Chargé d'affaires of Ukraine in the Russian Federation will be called to the Foreign Ministry of Russia,” Zakharova said.
According to her, “the reason for this call is the aggressive and provocative actions of the Ukrainian side.”
She called the conduct of Ukraine “not just non-observance of the legal rules but planned provocation and aggressive actions.”
“As we understand, this provocation and the whole complex of the provocative actions were prepared in advance.”
Moreover, the Russian Foreign Ministry urged Kyiv to provide the security of the Russian diplomats “to avoid grave consequences.”

The boats of the Russian Border Guard Service opened fire on the ship group of the Ukrainian Navy, which was moving towards the exit from the Kerch Strait.
Given the tough situation in the area of Kerch Strait in the Sea of Azov, President Petro Poroshenko supported the offer of Ukraine's national security and defense council; it stipulates that the Ukrainian Parliament should consider the option to impose the martial law in Ukraine.
