The Armed Forces of Ukraine consider several possible scenarios of intrusion of Russia into Ukraine at the different areas of the border as 1+1 TV channel recommended citing Commander of the Joint Forces Operation Serhiy Nayev.
“The Armed Forces of Ukraine consider a few scenarios all over the perimeter of the state border with the Russian Federation and temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions and the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. We consider the actions when such a threat will occur in the few directions simultaneously,” Nayev said.
He reported that proper detachments of the Armed Forces of Ukraine constantly prepare to response.
“Our task is to contain an aggressor and in case of its passage to the open aggression - rebuff an attack and do not allow the hostile boot to step on the Ukrainian land. We do everything to make our actions effective and properly completed,” Lieutenant General noted.
Earlier, Commander of the Naval Forces of Ukraine Oleksiy Neizhpapa said that it is possible that Russian troops would try to break out of occupied Crimea to the Kherson region in order to allow water to flow from the Dnipro River into the North Crimean Canal.
Nayev repeated that currently, the Ukrainian side does not see the immediate threat of the intrusion of the Russian side from the side of Crimea.
Besides, Nayev specified that there are 32,500 Russian military servicemen stationed in the annexed Crimea.
