Ukraine withdraws from CIS coordination bodies, - Poroshenko

The President ordered the Foreign Minister to recall Ukrainian representatives from the CIS bodies

Ukraine will not participate in the coordination bodies of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). Petro Poroshenko, the President of Ukraine claimed this during the session of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine as 112 Ukraine broadcasted.

'We stop the participation in the CIS coordination bodies. The Foreign Ministry of Ukraine has analyzed and informed the government on the feasibility of the further stay in the membership at one or another agreement. We will thoroughly work out these positions but Ukraine will not participate in any CIS coordination bodies anymore', Poroshenko noted.

He also ordered Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin to submit an offer to recall all Ukrainian representatives from the CIS coordination bodies.

'We have nothing to do there, in the terms, when the actions are coordinated with the country-aggressor', Poroshenko said.

As it was reported earlier, on April 12 Petro Poroshenko stated that he indented to present a bill on termination of certain articles of the agreement on friendship with Russia.

The President also called the Cabinet of Ministers for suspending the participation in the Commonwealth statutory bodies and supported the withdrawal of Ukraine’s representation in the relevant institutions in Minsk. Later, Iryna Lutsenko, the people’s deputy from Petro Poroshenko Bloc, the President’s representative in the Parliament, stated that Ukraine would not denounce a series of agreements within CIS, including those on diplomas’ recognition, recruitment and transit.
