Ukraine, along with Western partners, develops a comprehensive package for the containment of Russia. It includes political and diplomatic pressure, painful economic strikes in case of expansion of aggression, a list of specific needs for strengthening the Armed Forces of Ukraine, according to the Foreign Minister of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba. He said this at the briefing.
The minister said that he had held a number of negotiations in Washington and Brussels. In particular, with NATO Secretary General by Jens Stoltenberg.
"We discussed the security situation and a joint counteraction to hybrid threats coming from Russian Federation. The Secretary General invited me to take part in a meeting of NATO Foreign Ministers on November 30 - December 1 in Riga. This is an important sign of the Alliance's faith in Ukraine as one of the two NATO partners in the wider Black Sea region," Kuleba said.
According to him, the aggressiveness of Russia both in diplomatic and in military areas significantly increased over the past weeks. Ukraine is already actively consolidating partners for counteracting hybrid threats.
"Ukrainian diplomacy strengthens the security in three directions: allies, sanctions, weapons. That is, political support of Ukraine by key Euro-Atlantic partners, enhancing diplomatic and sanction pressure on the aggressor state, agreement on supplying additional weapons for our army," he said.
"My negotiations in the United States last week and in the EU and NATO this week were aimed at achieving the results in these three directions. And we returned with the results necessary at the moment," Dmytro Kuleba summed up.
Previously, Prime Minister of Poland Mateusz Morawiecki said that Russian President Vladimir Putin, along with Alexander Lukashenko, are trying to destabilize the situation in the West, thereby distracting attention from the new full invasion of Ukraine.
