The state budget of 2019 of Ukraine provides for more than 98.5 million dollars for intelligence. The relevant law came into force on January 1.
The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Defense Ministry will receive 102 million dollars, of which 98 million will be spent on intelligence activities.
The housing for servicemen of the Defense Ministry Main Intelligence Directorate will be built and provided within 4 million dollars.
365,000 dollars were allocated to create a housing fund in the Main Intelligence Directorate.
As it was reported earlier, last year the Defense Ministry allocated 91.2 million dollars to the Main Intelligence Directorate, including 87 million dollars for intelligence activities.
Ukraine's service for foreign intelligence began the official procedure of withdrawal from the CIS Agreement on Cooperation of Intelligence and Security Services. The original agreement was signed in 1992.
Previously, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko signed the decree, which stipulates Ukraine's withdrawal from all authorities of the CIS. He also added that Ukraine would reconsider the international agreements signed within the CIS, retreating from those, which do not meet the country's national interests.
