The Minister of Health of Ukraine Maksym Stepanov predicts that the Chinese vaccine against the coronavirus (CoronaVac) will be delivered to the country by the end of this month. The head of the Ministry of Health announced this on the air of the talk show Svoboda Slova (Freedom of Speech) of Savik Shuster, RBC-Ukraine reports.
"We must receive it (the Sinovac vaccine - ed.) by the end of March," Stepanov assured.
According to him, such information was provided to him by the supplier. In addition, the minister also held a conversation with the Chinese ambassador.
Stepanov noted that 700,000 doses of this vaccine should be delivered to Ukraine.
The first shipment of the Chinese anti-coronavirus drug was expected to arrive in the country by March 15.
As we reported earlier, Sinovac, the vaccine against coronavirus designed and developed in China has been registered in Ukraine.
Lekkhim, Ukraine's pharmaceutical company made a deal about shipment of 5,000,000 doses of the vaccine, including 1.9 million doses purchased via the government procurement system.
Previously, there were two registered vaccines from coronavirus in Ukraine: Covishield (developed by Oxford University and AstraZeneca), and the U.S.-made vaccine from Pfizer/BioNTech.
