117,000 doses of Pfizer vaccine should arrive in Ukraine

The first batch of the Pfizer vaccine against coronavirus will arrive in Ukraine on April 16 within the COVAX program as Health Minister Maksym Stepanov said.

“Preliminary, we expect it (Pfizer vaccine) tomorrow. We have the confirmation from COVAX that 117,000 doses will arrive tomorrow. We have a proper document. They postponed it so many times so now I am careful,” Stepanov said.

As we reported, the vaccination process of the population against coronavirus with the Chinese CoronaVac vaccine produced by Sinovac Biotech starts in Ukraine today, on April 13. The Health Minister noted that the CoronaVac vaccine will be used for the vaccination of particular groups of population: police officers, people with limited mobility (people with disabilities) who cannot come to the vaccination center and their guardians, the Olympians and Paralympians and teachers who participate in the external independent evaluation.

On April 15, the vaccination of Olympians and Paralympians has started in Ukraine. It is noted that the Ministry of Youth and Sports received 1,500 vaccines.
