Ukraine will receive refrigeration equipment worth $2.8 million for storage of coronavirus vaccines on the basis of primary care facilities and mobile teams use, the press service of Ministry of Healthcare reports.

"The Ministry of Healthcare, in partnership with UNICEF and with the financial support of the US government in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic, is launching an unprecedented upgrade of refrigeration equipment for the transportation and temporary storage of vaccines at the national level," the statement said.

Thus, 3,100 vaccination points, 1,034 of which operate on the basis of primary care facilities, and 800 mobile teams will receive the equipment.

It is reported that the equipment contains 5,643 thermal containers, 8,100 thermal bags, 197,730 refrigeration elements and 27,486 temperature monitoring devices.

On September 30, UNICEF delivered the first batch of refrigeration equipment, including 2,700 thermal bags in which Covid-19 vaccines can be stored at temperatures from +2 to +8 degrees.

It is noted that in the future this equipment can be used for transportation and storage of vaccines provided by the National Calendar of preventive vaccinations.

As it was reported earlier, Germany has donated 1.5 million doses of the AstraZeneca coronavirus vaccine to Ukraine.

At the meantime, 101,331 people were vaccinated in Ukraine on October 24. 75,240 people received one dose; while 26,091 were fully immunized.
