Ukraine will be represented at a meeting of the NATO North Atlantic Council's Supreme Advisory Committee on Armaments - the Conference of National Armaments Directors for the first time in more than half a century as the Defense Ministry reported citing Deputy Defense Minister of Ukraine Oleksandr Nosov.
The meeting of the NATO North Atlantic Council Supreme Advisory Committee on Armaments will take on 26 October. It will be headed by the Secretary-General of the alliance, Jens Stoltenberg.
According to Nosov, Ukraine has previously participated in the meetings of the Conference, but this time it will be involved in the discussion of issues that are exclusively the prerogative of NATO member states: innovations in the military-technical sphere, transformations in interaction with science and the military-industrial complex, and achieving an optimal balance between military needs and budgetary opportunities.
In the Belgian capital, bilateral meetings of the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksandr Nosov with the national directors for armaments of the NATO member states are also planned.
Last week, on October 21, NATO defense ministers approved a new plan for the defense of the alliance during conflicts and crises, with the aim of planning the immediate formation of the alliance forces at the right time and in the right place.
