Ukraine plans to launch in space seven satellites within the implementation of a new space program for 2021-2025 as Pershiy Dilovyi reported citing Chair of the State Space Agency of Ukraine Volodymyr Taftai.
“Within the implementation of the new space program, we set ourselves very ambitious goals. For example, the creation of the satellite grouping and launch of these satellite vehicles on orbit. Despite Sich-2-30, we plan to launch another six satellites. Sich-2-30 will the first in this grouping,” Taftai reported.
He noted that all satellites will focus on remote sensing of the Earth, “in other words taking photos of the Earth’s surface from space”. Head of the Space Agency noted that the work of the satellites is aiming, particularly, for the fulfillment of defensive and economic goals.
As we reported, the State Space Agency of Ukraine will pay Elon Musk’s SpaceX $ 1,99 million for the launch of the Ukrainian satellite Sich 2-30.
