The Cabinet of Ministers approved a set of measures to introduce biometric visas and simplify the procedure for identifying foreigners after their entry to Ukrainian territory. Relevant decision was made at the Cabinet meeting.
Now, foreigners, who applied for a permit to cross the Ukrainian border, will need to have a photo and submit ten fingerprints. All this information will be processed by the competent authorities and recorded on a digital medium.
The biometric visa will be valid for five years from the date of issue.
Moreover, the Cabinet presented a list of citizens from whom biometric data will not be required:
- children under 12 years old;
- citizens with diplomatic passports;
- citizens with service passports;
- citizens with disabilities that make it impossible to collect biometric data.
