Ukraine expects to receive 500 million euros of macro-financial aid from the European Union in the first quarter of 2020 as Prime Minister Oleksiy Honcharuk reported during the joint briefing with Valdis Dombrovskis, the Executive Vice President for an Economy that Works for People.
“We expect that this tranche will be provided in the first quarter of this year,” Honcharuk stated.
Besides, the PM added that today the Ukrainian delegation got the confirmation from the EU that Ukraine fulfilled all conditions for the provision of the tranche.
As we reported, the EU can provide a tranche of 500 million euros to Ukraine as early as February 2020.
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has adopted the draft law #0203, which ratifies the Memorandum on mutual understanding between Ukraine and the European Union, and the Credit Agreement between Ukraine, the National Bank, and the EU on the receiving of the macro-financial aid in the sum of one billion Euros on November 8.
In the mid of November 2018, then Ukraine’s President Petro Poroshenko signed the law on the ratification of the memorandum on the credit agreement on the provision of one billion euros. The memorandum was signed in September.
