Ukraine will file the application for the entering to the EU in 2024, as 112 Ukraine reported citing President Poroshenko during his speech at “From Kruty to Brussels” forum.
“2023 is the beginning of the procedure of the entering to the European Union, the signing of the actions plans on the membership of Ukraine in NATO. They dictate us the interests of our state,” the advertising block of the forum said.
In his turn, Poroshenko reported that Ukraine will the application for the entering to the EU in 2024.
“A lot of people did not believe that the Association Agreement would be signed and ratified. A lot of people did not believe that we would win great diplomatic fight against Russia for its ratification. I want to remind the steps of Russia, beginning with the referendum in the Netherlands and ending with the attempts to block it in the European Parliament. The agreement works. In 2024 we will file the application for the entering to the EU and I do not doubt that we will get and begin to fulfill the actions plan on the membership in NATO,” the president said.
Earlier Poroshenko stated that Ukraine clearly and purposefully goes to membership in the European Union and NATO.
The Parliament sent the bill on amendments to the Constitution concerning the EU, NATO integration plan with 321 votes on September 20, 2018.
According to the bill, the President of Ukraine is the guarantor of the implementation of strategic course of the state towards Ukraine’s full membership in the EU and NATO. In its turn, the Cabinet of Ministers provides the implementation of the strategic course of the state towards Ukraine’s full membership in the EU and NATO.
Later Ukraine’s Constitutional Court provided a conclusion to the presidential bill on amending the Constitution of the State concerning the integration of the country in the European Union and NATO.
