“We have received the order of the president to find out which of the citizens of Ukraine are under the sanctions of the U.S., who are they and on what basis they were put on the list,” Danilov reported.
According to him, the U.S. has a few institutions that apply sanctions against the citizens of other countries, and the United States Department of the Treasury is one of them.
“Currently 130 citizens of Ukraine are under the sanctions of the United States Department of the Treasury; it is checked by the Interior Ministry when they became the citizens of Ukraine, what documents they have; moreover, there is a particular list with four people who were sanctioned by the U.S. State Department due to another reason,” the NSDC Secretary added.
Besides, he reported that the NSDC has ordered the SBU, the Cabinet of Ministers, the Foreign Intelligence Service to check all information about 134 Ukrainians under the U.S. sanctions. It will be established on what basis the sanctions were introduced and the decisions on these citizens will be made during the next NSDC sessions.
Earlier, the United States imposed sanctions against 61 Ukrainians. Ukraine requested information on each sanctioned citizen.
