Ukraine will agree with the EU on the beginning of the new programs on the support of the development of the infrastructure at the border. Volodymyr Groysman, the Prime Minister of Ukraine claimed this as 112 Ukraine broadcasted.
He also spoke on the threat of the closing of other projects with the EU.
‘No, there are no threats to the projects in the future. This is the issue about the project for 2007-2013. There was also an attempt to continue to perform it in 2014-2015 by the efforts of the State Fiscal Service but it did not succeed, it was too late. Myroslav Prodan, the new head also tried to save the situation but it was too late’.
He noted that Ukraine will continue to develop the bordering infrastructure.
‘We will talk with the EU to not continue the old program but, possibly, begin a new support program. We work on the bilateral agreements with Hungary, Poland on the development of such passages.
Earlier Reuters reported that the EU dismantles a project of the financing of the modernization of the checkpoints at the western border of Ukraine in the sum of 30 million euros due to the delay of its implementation and excessive expenditures.
Later the State Fiscal Service belied this information and noted that the issue of the further financing of the reconstruction and building of the checkpoints at the expense of grant funds of Fiscal Service is considered.
As we reported the European Union has officially confirmed that it stops financing projects to develop more than 10 checkpoints on the western border of Ukraine on February 22. In addition, Ukraine will have to return some of the funds.
