Totally, 157 countries are included in the rating. Ukraine is ahead of Georgia, Moldova, Romania, and Turkey in the index but relented to Russia, Poland, and Kazakhstan.
The calculation of the “human capital quality” considers such indexes of the human resource as the knowledge, skills, and health. Taking into account the risks present in every country, the specialists try to predict the value of the children born these days until the moment they will be 18-year-old.
Human Capital Index is calculated on the base of the survival (the chances of the kids to survive until they come to school), education (quality and volume of the education) and health (the state of body of kids when they finish the school).
Human Capital Index varies from 0 to 1. The leader of the rating is Singapore with 0,88 points; the last place is occupied by Chad with 0,28 points. Ukraine has got 0,65 points, while the authors highly estimate the chances of the Ukrainians to live up to 5 years – 0,99 points.
Earlier Ukraine occupied the 134th place out of 152 in the rating of countries by the economic freedom index. According to the research, Ukraine moved up in the rating from 149th to 134th place during one year.
Also, Ukraine ranked 88th in the global rating of the quality of life for 2017. The index determining the place of the country in the rating was made considering such indicators as life expectancy, level of education, and incomes. Ukraine was rated at 0.751 points (with a maximum of 1) and took 88th place out of 189 countries.
