Ukraine has stopped pumping natural gas into its underground storage facilities. This is evidenced by the operational data of Ukrtransgaz.

On October 1 the injection into the storages amounted to 13.94 million cubic meters; on October 2 it dropped to 0.61 million cubic meters, and on October 3 stopped completely.

The media note that the stop was influenced by the cessation of Russian Gazprom's transit of natural gas through Ukraine to Hungary from October 1, 2021, as gas imports from Hungary to Ukraine took place through a virtual reverse.

As it was reported earlier, in the beginning of September Naftogaz CEO Yuriy Vitrenko declared that Ukraine has accumulated more reserves in its underground gas storage facilities than the Cabinet of Ministers had planned – up to 19 billion cubic meters.
