Ukraine, Spain to sign agreement on social security

The governments of Ukraine and Spain are finishing the preparation of the new bilateral agreement on social security, which will solve a series of issues of the protection of Ukrainians in Spain. Petro Poroshenko, the President of Ukraine, stated it in his speech after the prayer for Ukraine in Madrid, as 112.ua reports. 

“At my request, our cooperation with the Spanish friends has resulted in a bilateral agreement on social security replacing the previous agreement signed 22 years ago in 1996,” he noted.

Besides, the Head of the State expressed confidence that the signed agreement will make it possible to solve some issues of the social sphere concerning the protection of Ukrainians and Ukrainian community in Spain soon.

Earlier, Petro Poroshenko arrived in Spain on June 2 with an official, and he will stay till June 4. The Head of the state has a series of meeting with Madrid’s authorities and Ukrainians community.
