Ukraine should not stop negotiations in Minsk and any formats for settlement of the Donbas conflict. This was noted by U.S. Charge d'Affairs in Ukraine William Taylor during the interview to Voice of America.

Answering the question of whether Ukraine should stop negotiations in Minsk format, he said that negotiations were the only way to stop the Donbas war in Ukraine.

Taylor underlined that the finish of war on beneficial terms is important for Kyiv, Minsk Trilateral Contact Group, and the US. "The way to do that is to continue to talk in Minsk, in other places as well. The final decision is, of course, up to Mr. Putin. He is the one, who can determine this war is going to end or not," Taylor said.

At the same time, he says Washington needs to keep putting pressure on the Kremlin to persuade Russians to end the war in Donbas.

As we reported earlier, the governments of Ukraine and the U.S. were agreeing on the conditions of supply of Javelin anti-tank weapon launchers, as William Taylor said.

“Yes. We are ready to sell this weapon to Ukraine. Two governments are agreeing on the conditions,” Taylor noted.
