At the end of July, the Greek authorities evacuated residents of the suburb of Stamata, which is 30 km from Athens, due to forest fires that could harm residential buildings.

The day before, it was reported that the fire had reached Olympia. In addition, wildfires in Greek Athens went out of control.

On Saturday, as a result of a forest fire near Patras, the third-largest city in Greece, about a dozen houses were destroyed and five people were hospitalized with breathing problems. Also, dozens of people went to hospitals with problems of breathing in the north of Athens.
