Ukrainian delegation called on chief UN institutions to timely react to world conflicts to localize and prevent violence and human rights violations. This was announced on Wednesday at the UN Security Council meeting Ukraine’s Deputy Foreign Minister Serhiy Kyslytsia, reports Ukrinform.
“In conflict prevention and prevention of human rights violations the timely reaction of the UN has critical importance,” Kyslytsia noted during the debates concerning peace and security in Africa.
In connection with this Ukraine’s representative reminded that in 1994 UN could not prevent the genocide in Ruanda.
“Twenty years later in Ukraine the UN, Security Council and Secretary General did nothing to stop the occupation of Crimea and Russian armed aggression,” Kyslytsia said.
As it was reported earlier Ukraine will restore sovereignty over Donbas and Crimea, according to Poroshenko. The Novorossiya project was buried.
