According to the agency, United Energy provided the import of electricity from Russia on an equable schedule with a capacity of 100 MWt on October 1.
United Energy concluded a few contracts for gas supply by Dniproazov (enters the Privat group) in 2019. In August-September 2019, it participated in bidding for supply of electricity for objects of Prykarpattiaoblenergo owned by Surkis brothers.
Head of Energy Committee in the Verkhovna Rada Andriy Gerus specified that Russian electricity supplied to Ukraine by import was sold at the market “for a day forward” and it was allowed by the addition of the law “About market of electricity” 2017.
According to him, the contract concluded by the trader provides the possibility of the sale of electricity only at the “for a day forward” scheme and at the balancing market without the right of direct supply to final consumers on direct contracts.
The commercial import of electricity to Ukraine for Russia was held in 2015 last time. According to the contract concluded between Ukrintereneggo and Inter, it had to be passed to Crimea later. The contract acted during 2015 and provided the equable schedule of supplies in volume up to 1.5 GW. It was not extended.
In 2014, Ukraine imported 178 million kWh of electricity from Russia; in 2015 – 2.295.9 billion kWh. Last year the commercial import of electricity from Russia to Ukraine did not take place. Only small technological flows tied with the parallel work of Ukraine energy with energy systems of adjacent countries.
Earlier we reported that Ukraine has not been supplying gas for its needs from Russia for 1400 days, so all imported gas comes exclusively from the territory of the European Union.
