Ukraine has received assistance from the International Monetary Fund in the amount of $ 1.9 billion. This was announced by the Deputy Head of the National Bank of Ukraine Kateryna Rozhkova on her Facebook page.
"Today 1.9 billion have been credited to Ukraine's account at the IMF! An excellent gift for Independence Day! Glory to Ukraine," Rozhkova wrote.
The IMF mission is supposed to come to Ukraine in September. During the visit, the sides will focus on Ukraine's progress in reforms. Serhiy Nikiforov, the press secretary of president of Ukraine reported that during the briefing on Tuesday.
The official added that prior to the Independence Day, Ukraine is going to get 2.7 billion dollars within the loan mechanism. These funds will help cope with the consequences of coronavirus epidemic.
According to the J.P. Morgan's estimates, the second loan from the IMF (three billion dollars) could arrive in Ukraine by late 2021.
