"Now we are already at the peak and we expect that after that the incidence will gradually decrease. How quickly we pass this peak will depend on whether Ukrainians comply with quarantine restrictions and how quickly they are vaccinated," Lyashko said.

Meanwhile, the expansion of Covid-19 in Ukraine may speed up, reaching 40-50,000 new cases per day. Viktor Dosenko, Ph.D., Chief of Department for General and Molecular Pathophysiology of the Institue of Physiology of National Academic of Sciences of Ukraine said that.

"There could be 40-50,000 patients per day; bed capacity overloads and oxygen deficit are quite possible. The systems is overloaded, it doesn't have options for increasing the capacities," he said.

According to the expert, such a pessimistic forecases could be related to the movement of opponents of vaccination campaign. They claim that people don't have to get inoculated. Besides, the vaccination campaign in general has failed in general.
