The chief sanitary doctor of Ukraine Viktor Lyashko said that the country plans to vaccinate against coronavirus 20.9 million people (50% of the population of Ukraine) during 2021. Lyashko said this at the briefing, reports RBC-Ukraine.
The chief medical officer explained that the Ministry of Health plans to vaccinate 20.9 million people with anti-coronavirus vaccine in 2021. Those will be people who are at risk for professional reasons, the presence of concomitant diseases and age.
Note that the emergence of a vaccine against coronavirus disease from global manufacturers is expected in Ukraine at the end of the first - beginning of the second quarter of 2021.
According to Health Minister Maxym Stepanov, the Ministry of Health is at the final stage of negotiations to reach agreements with global vaccine manufacturers, which have passed the third stage of clinical trials, in particular with Pfizer.
Also yesterday, December 4, Stepanov signed a number of technical documents with the COVAX mechanism to supply the coronavirus vaccine to Ukraine.
