It is planned to implement a mobile identification technology and electronic signature Mobile ID in Ukraine. The pilot project was presented on Friday on December 23 at a meeting chaired by Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman.
The head of the State electronic control agency Oleksandr Ryzhenko talked about development prospects of the technology.
According to him, taking into account the level of penetration of mobile technology in everyday life and the increasing demand for smart phones, the Mobile ID technology looks like one of the most promising in the context of the provision of electronic services to citizens and businesses.
"Sphere of MobileID usage is quite wide and includes electronic services and access to registers, electronic document management, e-commerce and banking operations. Subsequently, it may be the medicine service and more. Advantage of the technology in the first place is the ease of use and high level of safety," Ryzhenko said.
According to him, this project can become a leading one, become a catalyst for the development of the digital market.
He said that work on the project began more than a year ago. Then the talks with mobile operators on the introduction of Mobile ID technology were held. The pilot project was implemented with the help of "Kyivstar" mobile operator, but it is planned to involve all operators.
The promotional video of technology shows that Mobile ID is a personal electronic signature assigned to the person’s sim-card; it has legal force and is protected from fraud. It is noted that Mobile ID allows to sign documents to make payments and even vote in the future.
Mobile ID also saves all the information about user passwords to web pages that he visits, and the client will only need to remember the password for the electronic signature.
It is planned to use Mobile ID to access the e-declarations, the payment of pensions and so on. During the presentation it was emphasized that Mobile ID works on both your smartphone and on a normal mobile phone with buttons.
