Ukraine plans to join EU energy market in 2025, - PM

Prime Minister of Ukraine Oleksiy Honcharuk stated that Ukraine intends to join the European energy market in 2025 as the governmental portal reported after Honcharuk meeting with Estonian President Kersti Kaljulaid.

“We are interested in the Estonian experience of integration to the European energy market. We plan to join the energy market of Europe in 2025,” Honcharuk said.

He also noted that Ukraine intends to finally get rid of the Soviet heritage and maximally integrate to the EU. He noted that Ukraine intends to liberalize the energy market and refuse from the Soviet Housing Code and Labor Code, which were adopted in the 60s and they are absolutely inefficient.

The Premier hopes that the cooperation between business and civilian society of two states will become stronger year by year. He added that the new government knows about some difficulties of work of the Estonian companies and Ukraine and plans to find the solution for the protection of the rights of the Estonian investors in Ukraine soon.

Earlier Ukrainian Prime Minister Oleksiy Honcharuk announced the reform of the tax system. It should be implemented from January 1, 2021.
