Ukraine Parliament’s Speaker congratulates NATO on anniversary of its creation

Andriy Parubiy expressed hope that Ukraine will soon join the Alliance and celebrate this day together with other countries

Speaker of Verkhovna Rada Andriy Parubiy congratulated NATO member states on the anniversary of the creation of the Alliance. He said this at the beginning of the plenary session on April 4 on air of 112 Ukraine TV channel.

“Colleagues, on April 4, 1949, the North Atlantic Alliance, NATO was created in Washington. It’s a union of free countries that successfully resisted the terrible empire of evil - the Soviet Union. And for today, for Ukraine, that has been defending its borders from Putin's horde for three years already the best way to achieve strategic security is the reliable shield of NATO. Our task is to make every effort to join the free peoples united in the North Atlantic Alliance as soon as possible. I believe that very soon we will celebrate this day together as full-fledged members of NATO,” Parubiy said.

He called to congratulate Ukraine’s reliable friends and partners with the Day of NATO creation.

Earlier it was reported that Ukraine’s SBU will use NATO devices to counter cyber threats. It is to be installed and should start working by summer, - NATO official.
