Ukraine wants to create its own missile defense system (NMD) and has already begun negotiations with other countries to obtain technologies for its development. This was announced by Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba on the air of the program Svoboda Slova on the ICTV channel on Monday, Interfax-Ukraine reported.
“We don't need an American missile defense system, we need a Ukrainian missile defense system, and this technology may not necessarily come from the United States, there are other countries that own it, and we are negotiating access to it,” Kuleba said.
According to him, air and missile defense are now key gaps in the national security system, which Ukraine is working to eliminate.
As it was reported earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has offered US President Joe Biden to create a free trade zone between Ukraine and the U.S.
In addition, Charge d'Affaires of the United States Kristina Kvien has stated that Washington will do everything possible to release Ukrainian prisoners in Russia from the list passed by Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky to American leader Joe Biden
