Ukraine, Moldova talk on air traffic liberalization

The parties agreed on the text of the new air services agreement, discussed the procedure for resolving disputes over competition between air carriers and liberal formulation of the article on tariffs

The first round of negotiations with the delegation of Republic of Moldova regarding the new bilateral air traffic agreement took place in the State Aviation Service of Ukraine on August 4. This was reported by the aviation service press center.

According to the text, Ukrainian side representatives were headed by the Chairman of the State Aviation Service Oleksandr Bilchuk, and Moldova’s delegation was headed by Deputy Economy Minister Sergey Bukataru.

"During the official visit, parties previously agreed on the text of new air traffic agreement, discussed the procedure for resolving disputes over competition between air carriers and liberal formulation of the article on tariffs," the report said.

Special attention of delegations was focused on the need for further liberalization of air communication between the countries.

"An agreement has been reached to sign the Protocol during the next round of negotiations with a plan for gradual liberalization of air communication, and the principles of protective measures necessary for that the parties fulfill obligations," Bilchuk added.

As it was reported earlier Ukraine and Moldova discussed regulation of Transnistria conflict. The parties talked through joint border and custom control along the entire state border, - Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry.
