Ukraine marks Youth Day today. According to the President’s decree as of June 22, 1994 it is annually celebrated on last Sunday in June. In 2018, the celebration occurred on June 24.
As the President’s decree on “Youth Day” says, the aim of the holiday is to “support the initiatives of the youth associations and organizations in Ukraine”.
Petro Poroshenko, Ukraine’s President, has already congratulated youth with the holiday on Twitter.
“Thousands of doors and roads are opened for you. So onward and upward! Because you are the future of Ukraine,“ the President wrote.
Volodymyr Groysman, the PM of Ukraine, joined him in congratulating young Ukrainians.
“Young people, without pathos, are not only the future but also the present of every country. The youth creates the trends, sets a high bar for the next generations, forms a progressive direction for community development. The openness to all new and the freshness of thinking gives the young generation an opportunity to generate ideas which change the world,” he wrote.
According to the existing law, people at the age of 15-34 are considered young in Ukraine.
