President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and President of Lithuania Gitanas Nauseda, who pays an official visit to Ukraine, have signed the Joint declaration toward the European prospects of Ukraine as the President’s Office reported.
The joint declaration states support of the European prospect of Ukraine by Lithuania.
The document defines that according to Article 49 of the Agreement on the European Union, Ukraine, as any European country that respects values enshrined in Article 2 of this agreement and commits to follow them, can file an application for membership in the EU in case of observation of all conditions and commitments.
On March 18, the meeting of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and President of Lithuania Gitanas Nauseda has taken place.
Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Ukraine's immediate goal is to have a NATO Membership Action Plan (MAP).
Jens Stoltenberg noted that the draft law on reforming the Security Service of Ukraine (bill On Amendments to the Law of Ukraine On the Security Service of Ukraine to improve the organizational and legal framework of the Security Service of Ukraine), which is currently in parliament, will help accelerate the movement towards the Euro-Atlantic path.
