Ukraine lags behind the Covid-19 vaccination plan and organizational issues - one of the reasons. This was announced by the Minister of Health of Ukraine Maksym Stepanov in an interview with Radio Svoboda, RBC Ukriane reports.

"We are almost two times behind, a little less, 1.8 times behind the plan that we have outlined," Stepanov said.

According to him, the vaccination process was not properly organized for a number of organizational reasons: somewhere "they did not have time", in another place "there were no volunteers", "they decided to postpone the opening of the vaccination point" or "did not get through to people aged 80+ who would come to get vaccinated" or "the system failed - they could not ship the vaccine."

Meanwhile, Ukraine expects the next batch of CoronaVac vaccine produced by the Chinese company Sinovac Biotech in the coming weeks. This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelensky, recalling that earlier Ukraine received 215,000 doses of this drug.

"In addition to China, the Sinovac vaccine is already used by 18 countries around the world. In particular, Turkey, where President Erdogan and Patriarch Bartholomew were vaccinated with it," Zelensky said.

The head of state added that in total, under the contract with Sinovac Biotech, Ukraine should receive almost 2 million doses of CoronaVac.
