Ukraine, Israel sign agreement on Free Trade Area

The agreement on the Free Trade Area was signed by the representatives of the Ukrainian and Israeli governments on January 21 in Jerusalem as 112 Ukraine broadcasted.

The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu were present at the ceremony of signing.

Petro Poroshenko called the day of the signing of the agreement historical in the relations between the countries.

“It is a historical day in the relations between Israel and Ukraine. We destroyed all barriers in our economic relations. I want to congratulate you and thank for such cooperation,” the president of Ukraine noted.

As we reported the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine authorized First Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Economic Development and Trade Stepan Kubiv for the signing of the agreement on the Free Trade Area (FTA) with Israel.

Ukraine and Israel completed the technical initializing of the deal earlier this year; the talks were completed in March. Later, in August, the sides agreed to sign it.
