Ukraine is ready to supply the European Union with additional volumes of gas - at least 55 billion cubic meters as Secretary of the National Security and Defense Center of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov reported during the briefing.
According to Danilov, the government, Naftogaz and the Gas Transmission System Operator of Ukraine (GTSU) have been instructed to determine special conditions for the transportation of these volumes.
“The following was adopted: The Cabinet of Ministers, together with Naftogaz and the GTSU Operator, shall determine special conditions for transporting additional gas through the Ukrainian GTS to the EU countries in the amount of at least 55 billion cubic meters per year," Danilov said.
He noted that today Ukraine has a contract with Russia to pump 40 billion cubic meters of gas a year. According to him, the capacity of the Ukrainian GTS allows us to offer Europe an additional 55 billion cubic meters.
Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelensky acknowledged that there is not enough gas in Ukrainian storage facilities, and it is unknown what the situation will be in the energy sector in the future.
