Ukraine is ready to provide Russia with 50% discount on gas transit to Europe, - Zelensky

President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Ukraine is ready to provide Russia with a 50% discount on gas transit to Europe in order to ease the energy crisis in the region as Bloomberg reported.

According to him, the proposal concerns the transit of gas in excess of 40 billion cubic meters established by the contract with the Russian company.

“Ukraine offers this additional capacity to all potential transit countries. We would like to see European companies as customers, but additional capacity is available for Gazprom as well. And with a discount compared to the current transit tariff, I can assume that this discount will be 50%,” Zelensky said.

Earlier, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Center of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov stated that Ukraine is ready to supply the European Union with additional volumes of gas - at least 55 billion cubic meters. 

Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelensky acknowledged that there is not enough gas in Ukrainian storage facilities, and it is unknown what the situation will be in the energy sector in the future.
