Ukraine and Iran agreed to launch test freight train to transport agricultural products. This was reported by the press service of the Infrastructure Ministry of Ukraine.
First of all, it’s for the transportation of grain from Ukraine to Iran.
The route will pass through the territory of Georgia and Azerbaijan.
Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Volodymyr Omelyan noted that Ukraine-Iran test train can be launched in summer of 2017.
“This is a very promising direction of cooperation for both countries, Ukraine should develop new international transport corridors in order to become a reliable transit bridge between the countries of Europe, Asia and the East," Omelyan said.
Omelyan also called on the Iranian side to consider transporting Iranian oil to Ukraine, as well as the prospects of building an oil refinery on the territory of our country.
The sides also discussed cooperation in the sphere of sea and road transport, separately focused on issues of strengthening cooperation in the aviation sector.
Earlier it was reported that it is planned to open Moldova-Ukraine highway in 2017. Moldovan Prime Minister Pavel Filip hopes that road traffic through the bridge Unguri- Bronnytsa will be opened in 2017. The bridge is above Dniester river and goes from Unguri village in Moldova and Bronnytsa village in Ukraine.
