Infrastructure Minister Vladyslav Krykliy invited the Austrian companies to cooperate in the production of electric locomotives and renewal of the railway-yard of Ukrzaliznytsia (Ukrainian Railways) as the ministry reported.
“I am sincerely grateful to the Austrian side for continued cooperation in different ways, including road freight transport. We want to develop this cooperation in the future. Moreover, we started the process of selection of the producers of electric locomotives for the renewal of the railway-yard of Ukrzaliznytsia. We invite the Austrian companies for cooperation in this issue and participation in the selection,” Krykliy stated.
He also noted that the Ukrainian side pays particular attention to the development of combined transport from Asia to the EU countries by transit through Ukraine.
“At the beginning of September, the consultations were held with the Slovakian side on the activation of the cooperation on China-Europe route through the territories of Ukraine and Slovakia. The Ukrainian railway infrastructure has sufficient capacity and possibility to provide reliable transport service during the holding of such transportations,” Krykliy concluded.
As we reported, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine may allocate $161.6 million to Ukrainian Railways (Ukrzaliznytsia) for the renewal of passenger rolling stock and overall modernization of the infrastructure.
