In 2021, Ukraine will get 20 million doses of Pfizer drug

Ukraine succeeded to increase the supplies of the Pfizer vaccine twice. This year, Ukraine will get 20 million doses of Pfizer drug as Health Minister Maksym Stepanov reported.

“We have succeeded to increase the supplies of Pfizer BionTech vaccine twice already this year. Instead of 10 million, we will get 20 million doses of Pfizer drug”.

According to Stepanov, this year Ukraine should receive 42 million doses of contracted vaccine. It includes 8 million doses of vaccine within COVAX, 32 million doses on direct contracts between producers and Ukraine. 20 million of them are Pfizer vaccines; 10 million are American Novavax vaccine, AstraZeneca vaccine on direct contracts and COVAX program and Chinese Sinovac drug.

Meanwhile, Stepanov noted that 42 million doses are a sufficient amount of vaccine for inoculation of adults in 2021.

As we reported, 2,208 new cases of coronavirus infection were registered in Ukraine in 24 hours. Particularly, 89 children and 34 medics got infected.
