In today’s meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group in Minsk, Ukraine noted that militants continue disrupting the opening of Zolote checkpoint in Luhansk region, according to Darka Olifer, pr the ss secretary of Ukraine’s representative in the TCG, on Facebook.

“We are appalled by the cynicism with which Russia and the militants continue disrupting the opening of Zolote checkpoint. This checkpoint was supposed to have been working for a while without any additional conditions, so we call on Russia to immediately fulfil the obligations, which the President of Russia took upon himself in the presence of his colleagues from the Normandy Four back in October 2016,” she wrote.

Ukraine also raised the issue of security, noting that the OSCE SMM systematically records attacks on the objects of infrastructure, including the Donetsk filtration plant. Moreover, militant attacks near Stanytsia Luhanska obstruct the withdrawal of arms.

Zolote checkpoint is equipped and ready to operate since March 31, 2016. The countries of the TCG agreed to open the checkpoint last autumn. 2,000 cars and 5,000 people on foot can go through the checkpoint daily. However, the “LNR” leaders continue disrupting the opening of the checkpoint.
