Ukraine imposes sanctions on ten former high rank officers who "betrayed country"

Ukraine has imposed sanctions on ten senior officers who "betrayed the country." This was stated by Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov following a meeting of the Defense Council.

"Today we considered the issue of those high-rank officers who betrayed our country. A decision was made regarding ten people," he said.

In particular, sanctions are being imposed on former Interior Minister Vitaliy Zakharchenko and former SBU Chairman Oleksandr Yakymenko and:

  • Denys Berezovsky
  • Stanislav Shaportov
  • Serhiy Nyanchur
  • Yuriy Katovsky
  • Volodymyr Tovsky
  • Valentyna Hanzhy
  • Serhiy Yeliseyev
  • Dmitro Shakura

According to Danilov, they are deprived of all state awards and titles in Ukraine.

Maximum sanctions were imposed on them, including 13 points.
