Health Minister Maksym Stepanov stated that currently, Ukraine has the lowest rate of mortality from coronavirus in Europe, as he reported during the briefing.

As of today, Ukraine occupies the 36th place on the death rate in Europe.

According to Stepanov, the mortality rate in the UK three times higher than in Ukraine. In France, Poland, and Italy, the death rate is higher than in Ukraine twice.

However, the Health Minister noted that despite the low level of mortality, the Ukrainians should continue to observe all quarantine restrictions and safety measures.

“Currently it is very important that at most all citizens of Ukraine stick to the rules established in our country and quarantine restrictions that act in ‘yellow’, ‘orange’ and ‘red’ levels of the epidemic safety,” Stepanov said.

As of March 16, 9,642 new coronavirus cases were observed in Ukraine. Besides, during the past 24 hours: 2,005 people hospitalized; 860 patients discharged; 264 lethal cases observed; 6,202 people recovered; 75,509 tests were held; express tests for SARS-CoV-2 detected 19,496 cases.

Since the beginning of the pandemic 1,477,190 people got infected; 1,232,209 people recovered; 28,697 lethal cases observed; 7,416,142 PCR tests were held.

As we reported, the spread rate of coronavirus infection in Ukraine gets worse, and the number of infected people increases. Currently, this number is the same as in November, when doctors observed the largest increase in the incidence rate.
