Because of the accident at Zaporizhia thermal power plant, the united energy system of Ukraine has capacity shortages of 750 MW. To compensate the deficits, the operators of Ukrenergo increased the production of electricity at hydroelectric power stations as Ukrenergo reported.
“As a result of the full dump of Zaporizhia thermal power plant, the united energy system of Ukraine got the capacity shortages 750 MW that was compensated by the operators of Ukrenergo at the expense of the increase of production of electricity at hydroelectric power stations, which produced 26.8 million kW per hour on February 3 and it is for 8 million kW more that volumes of the trade schedules. The emergency assistance from related energy systems was not activated on February 3,” the message said.
Ukrenergo also noted that at the energy supply for own use was restored at Zaporizhia thermal power plant, on February 3, at 21:22. On February 4, at 03:47, the energy block #4 started to work, and it works now with the capacity of over 200 MW. Energy block #1 started to work on February 4, at 09:55. The start of work of energy block #3 is expected on February 4.
As we reported, in Enerhodar, Zaporizhia region, a serious accident occurred at a thermal power plant, as a result of which the city was left without electricity and water supply.
As we reported earlier, on January 9, the explosion resulted from depressurization that took place at the Urengoy-Pomary-Uzhgorod gas pipeline in Lubny, Poltava region. The explosion took place near the village of Kalaidyntsi at around 16:00.
