Secretary-General of NATO Jens Stoltenberg stated that Ukraine and Georgia will be the members of the North Atlantic Alliance as he stated at NATO Engages.

According to Stoltenberg, the decision of the NATO summit in Bucharest in 2008 that Ukraine and Georgia will enter the Alliance overtime remained in force but the terms of its fulfillment are not defined.

The Secretary-General underlined that the main task is to find a way to help Ukraine and Georgia to progress for entrance to Alliance.

“The North Atlantic Alliance focuses on the help to Kyiv and Tbilisi in the moving towards Euro-Atlantic integration, reforms, modernizing armed forces and defending and security institutions,” Stoltenberg said.
