Ukraine falls to 13th place in Worldsteel rating

In September 2018, Ukraine has reduced production of steel by 7,6% compared with the same period in 2017. Ukrainian steelworkers have melted down 1,787 million tons of steel falling from the 12th place to the 13th in the world rating of steel producers, which includes 64 states, as Worldsteel informs in its report.

In September, an increase of steel making was recorded compared with September 2017 by 4,4% - to 151,711 million tons. In total, the steelworkers produced 1 346,7 million tons, which is 4,7% more if compared with the same period in 2017.

  • India - 8,52 million tons (+2,1%);
  • Japan - 8,418 million tons (-2,4%);
  • S. - 7,251 million tons (+9%);

  • South Korea - 5,853 million tons (-3,4%);
  • Germany - 3,775 million tons (+7,5%);
  • Brazil - 3,032 million tons (+2,5%);
  • Turkey - 2,823 million tons (-5,9%);
  • Italy - 2,176 million tons (-0,8%);
  • Iran - 2 million tons (+4,3%);
  • Taiwan - 1,925 million tons (+6,5%);
  • Ukraine - 1,787 million tons (-7,6%).
