Ukraine is at the second wave of the coronavirus incidence, the third wave is expected in autumn as 112 Ukraine TV channel reported citing Advisor of Kyiv City Head Volodymyr Bondarenko.

“Today, we enter the second wave before completing the first one. If we hoped earlier that the summer season will shape the decreasing of the number of infected – it is not happening. Thus, according to him, it is planned to extend the lockdown in Ukraine for about a month.

“For now, the Cabinet of Ministers will extend the quarantine for about a month and we will observe whether we can lift the quarantine restrictions gradually. But there is no point to relax; summer has not brought the expected effect. Besides, we expect the third wave of the incidence at the beginning of the autumn; it will be tied with the seasonal diseases. It is not time to relax,” Bondarenko concluded.
