“Today, we enter the second wave before completing the first one. If we hoped earlier that the summer season will shape the decreasing of the number of infected – it is not happening. Instead, totally in Ukraine, we observe the growth of the number of diseased. That is why, the lockdown will not end on June 22,” Bondarenko stated.
Thus, according to him, it is planned to extend the lockdown in Ukraine for about a month.
“For now, the Cabinet of Ministers will extend the quarantine for about a month and we will observe whether we can lift the quarantine restrictions gradually. But there is no point to relax; summer has not brought the expected effect. Besides, we expect the third wave of the incidence at the beginning of the autumn; it will be tied with the seasonal diseases. It is not time to relax,” Bondarenko concluded.
As we reported, the largest number of coronavirus-infected people has been recorded in Kyiv over the past 24 hours: 95 Kyivans fell ill. This is a new anti-record in terms of incidence.
