Ukraine expects supply of Pfizer vaccine this week

117,000 doses of the Pfizer vaccine against coronavirus should be supplied to Ukraine this week as Health Minister Maksym Stepanov reported.

“The next batch that we expect and we expect it soon, to be more precise, this week is Pfizer vaccine; 117,000 doses that will be supplied within COVAX program,” Stepanov said.

He reminded that Ukraine should receive eight million doses of vaccine within COVAX.

Besides, Stepanov noted that the Health Minister has clear distribution, where the expected vaccines will be used.

“These vaccines will be used for our citizens who stay at the boarding houses, retirement homes and employees of these facilities,” he said.

As we reported, the vaccination process of the population against coronavirus with Chinese CoronaVac vaccine produced by Sinovac Biotech starts in Ukraine today, on April 13. The Health Minister noted that the CoronaVac vaccine will be used for the vaccination of particular groups of population: police officers, people with limited mobility (people with disabilities) who cannot come to the vaccination center and their guardians, the Olympians and Paralympians and teachers who participate in the external independent evaluation.
