The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine attempts to activate the dialogue with the Russian side to get the comprehensive information about the detention of the border guards that are accused of the illegal cross of the border with Russia. Assistant of Head of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine Oleg Slobodyan reported this at the airing of 112 Ukraine.
‘One of the letters that we recently received from the Russians testifies that they are ready for the dialogue and hinted on the tit-for-tat measures. Possibly, they will really initiate the exchange of our military officers for two Russian border guards that were detained at the administrative border with temporary occupied Crimea a few months ago’, Slobodyan said.
According to him, it will be not easy to return the Ukrainian to home and it will take some time.
As we reported earlier, two employees of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine disappeared on Tuesday in Sumy region near the border with Russia on October 3. The next day Russia officially confirmed the detention of two officers.
Later the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine reported that the Russian court arrested the border guards for two months. The Consul of Ukraine in Russia was trying to get in touch with the detainees, but he was denied, with an explanation that the detained persons haven’t been identified yet. It is not excluded that the force was used against the Ukrainian border guards. At the moment border guards Bogdan Martson and Igor Dzyubak are already charged as the FSB reported.
