Mayorsk checkpoint in Donbas, through which prisoner swap between Ukraine and occupied Donbas is scheduled for today, is closed. The journalists are not allowed, 112 Ukraine correspondent reports from the scene, located several kilometers from the checkpoint.
“This is Mayorsk checkpoint, and it is closed to movement. As the military assure, it’s closed for technical reasons and they don’t let a single car go through it. We know that they are preparing for the exchange of the prisoners. The journalists are not let... Not a single media outlet managed to get accreditation,” our journalist states.
As reported before, Ukraine has agreed the exact date of the prisoners’ exchange with the militants on the formula ‘all identified to all identified. December 29, representatives of the so-called Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics will transfer 55 people to Kyiv and expect to receive 87 detainees as part of the "all-for-all" exchange formula.’
Previously today, protesters that gathered near the Lukyanivsky pre-trial detention center in Kyiv to block the prisoner swap between Ukraine and occupied Donbas are still blocking the facility. The reason for their actions is that former law enfocers from Berkut riot police (1992-2014) are on the list of exchange.
