President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko stated that Ukraine clearly and purposefully goes to membership in the European Union and NATO as the presidential press service reported.

“We confidently follow our way. It is a way of our national consensus, national idea. And I am sure that we will not abandon this way,” Poroshenko stated.

The president emphasized that Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area with the EU is “the guide of the full-scale economic integration to the common European market”.

“Ukraine successfully implements significant changes in the sphere of security and defense of the state. The Ukrainian Army entered TOP10 most powerful armies of Europe. And the law on the national security adopted last year will bring us to NATO standards with the faster tempo,” he added.

The Parliament sent the bill on amendments to the Constitution concerning the EU, NATO integration plan with 321 votes on September 20, 2018.

According to the bill, the President of Ukraine is the guarantor of the implementation of strategic course of the state towards Ukraine’s full membership in the EU and NATO. In its turn, the Cabinet of Ministers provides the implementation of the strategic course of the state towards Ukraine’s full membership in the EU and NATO.

Later Ukraine’s Constitutional Court provided a conclusion to the presidential bill on amending the Constitution of the State concerning the integration of the country in the European Union and NATO.
